Twinmotion Course: A Step by Step Guide to Professional 3D Visualization

I have been using Archicad since 1989 and am excited about the many changes over the years. Working in 3D visualising, I simply love the power of Twinmotion in creating images and visualisations. The quality of Twinmotion images is certainly something your clients would love. Hense, the reason I have created a Twinmotion Course.

Are you looking to get up-to-speed with Twinmotion and create 3D images and visuals that impress? This step-by-step Twinmotion training is for beginners, that said, it really helps you create impressive 3D images. Before I explain what is in the Twinmotion Starter Course: Conquering (Achieving) Proficiency let look at who this course if for.

Who is the Twinmotion Starter Course for?

This Twinmotion training is for you if;

  • An Archicad user, using Cinerender but would prefer a better end result.

  • You would like to use Twinmotion but do not know where to start. Do not fear, this course is a step by step guide.

  • The thought of learning a new software scares you. I know learning new rendering softwares can be challenging.

  • You have tried to learn Twinmotion with some ‘free’ or ‘basic course’ only to find you are getting frustrated at the lack of knowledge shared.

Is Twinmotion easy to learn?

I have found Twinmotion to be one of the easier rendering softwares to learn that creates quality visualizations. It has a user interface friendly interface which I guide you through, throughout the training.

The step-by-step Twinmotion Starter Course will guide you through the essential features and functions of Twinmotion, giving you the skills to create stunning 3D visualizations quickly and easily.

Getting Started with Twinmotion

Naturally, you need to begin your Twinmotion journey with a foundational overview. Therefore chapters 1 to 3 help guide you in setting up Twinmotion and linking Archicad with Twinmotion.

Introduction to the course

Below are the list of modules covered in the twinmotion course. We start with some important basics. The first lesson is about which version of Twinmotion should you use. This is a lesson I recommend not to skip. In the introduction is also how to set up Archicad with Twinmotion direct link.

Chapter 1 - Getting started

In the first module you will learn all about the Archicad to Twinmotion connection. How to set up the direct link and how to use it.

Chapter 2 - The Twinmotion User Environment & Preparation to Go to Work

In chapter 2 it is all about setting up Twinmotion and preparing to work. Preparation is an important step of the process and can save you a lot of time as you create your 3D images.

You will see the User Interface is very easy to get used to, which is one of the strengths of Twinmotion for new users.

Chapter 3 - The Fundamentals of Working in Twinmotion

Module 3 of the Twinmotion course has a brief review on preparing your Archicad Model because it is so important to have the model correct before you move it to Twinmotion.

The lessons in chapter 3 include; preparing your Archicad model, the fundamentals including the 3 key ingredients and a lesson on texturing your model in Twinmotion vs Archicad.

Chapter 04 - Using Assets in Twinmotion like Furniture, Trees,People,Cars, etc.

Twinmotion has massive library assets to choose from, so you almost never short of options. Almost never as there will always be that ONE library part you just can't find! What I love about these assets are that they so easy to add, place, change, move, multiply and much more. We also look into using Archicad library parts or not?

Chapter 05 and 06 - Master the Light Settings in Twinmotion

The next 2 Chapters are all about mastering the lighting settings in Twinmotion. Learn the skills needed to master the powerful light settings available in Twinmotion. Chapters 5 and 6 in the starter Twinmotion course will explore how to choose the right lights for your scene and how to adjust their position, intensity, colour, and more.

Chapter 07 - Introduction to Media in Twinmotion

Setting up cameras and video for animation is next in this chapter. Adding a camera is so easy it is actually fun doing it. You move around in your model until you found the view point you after, then click add camera, done. Now of course there is much more to it as the camera settings are very powerful, yet still easy to adjust to your needs. Be it the view angle, visual effects like contrast, saturation or maybe you after a DOF ( depth of view) effect? Blur the foreground and focus on a sharp background, or vice versa?

Chapter 08 - Media Export Image & Video in Twinmotion

Yes it's time to actually get out your images or videos you worked very hard for! This final chapter will tell you all about it. But not before having a look at the two render options Twinmotion is providing. You can output Raster images or use the Path tracer option. Both are very powerful and look great.

Learn Techniques to Create Realistic 3D Visualizations with Twinmotion

After completion of this course you will know and understand how to use Twinmotion. And how to use Twinmotion to captivate and amaze your clients’ ability to see their projects before they are built…almost if they are already there.

As you work on a project in Twinmotion, keep learning as to improve your image. When you persist and keep making adjustments, the results have the potential to be outstanding.
